Michigan Renaissance Festival 2015

37th Annual Michigan Renaissance Festival

I had the pleasure to go to the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly, MI. I took my son and his friend and it was our first time going to the event. We had a great time and they want to go again next year. My son and his friend spent four weeks making a costume to wear and they did an awesome job. They were photographed by people all day, either someone was taking their photo or they were having a photo taken with someone.

As you can see in the photos, people dressed up in costumes for the event, including kids. It was neat to see people dressed up. This is a great family event. Plan on spending a whole day there as there is so much to see and do.  It is 17 acre village with different vendors that sell their goods, a wide variety of different foods to eat , entertainment, archery, musicals, jousting, clothing shops, jewelry, candles , metals, wood and much more. They have a spot that is focused on things just for the kids with activities, making things, petting zoo and much more. The festival doesn't cancel any shows or activities, rain or shine it will still go on. Our weather here in Michigan is unpredictable so you must dress for the weather. It was a little chilly around 60 degrees and we had a slight rain shower but that didn't stop anyone from having a good time. You can click on the photos to enlarge them and it'll  put it in a slide.

We watched a sword fighting comedy show.  It was entertaining and funny. Here's a clip.

As we traveled through the village we watched more comedy shows, stopped at some shops, met and talked with other people . As the day was ending we stopped and watched a performance of some wild animals that were rescued and being trained to perform. This was called The Sky Kings Bird Of Prey. Here's a video clip and some photos.

Last but not least the last show we saw was the Jousting. We watched the tail end of the jousting, only because we were trying to find the field and we had to ask for directions. But here are couple of photos from the event. Great way to end the day.
